In an unexpected twist, my summer vacation took me home to Texas sun, swims with Lola, and small-town charm. The first night was music on the square and scoops from Beth Marie’s. By morning, I was already vintage hunting, drawn to the silver, shells, cord necklaces, and even doilies I’d saved in screenshots weeks before.
Then came the plot twist. My mom’s best friend, who’d watched me light up over each find, surprised me with two large bags filled with jewelry that mirrored everything I’d been searching for. We unwrapped piece after piece, sharing stories, gasps, and laughter. And it kept happening another bag, another memory, another moment.
This wasn’t just a trip. It was an awakening. A reminder of where I come from, of the women who shaped me. A generational connection between women who’ve always used jewelry as language, identity, and expression. Shells, silver, mermaid energy it’s more than a trend this summer. It’s a romance. A remembering. A way home.
And sharing it all with Lola? That was the real treasure.
The Petra necklace by Juju Vera, an icon piece and also with tassels here.
Haena Charm necklace by Chan Luu, I know I am not alone in this but who else has been visiting the Chan Luu website daily? From taffeta pants, to the most insane necklaces.
Tres J set of three shell silverware and yes Tres J is the one that does this viral shell cocktail glass. I had to do more research on this and see if it was in fact made from shell and Tres J states “each natural shell is carefully hand-chosen and is unique in its shape and texture.” So stunning.
The Sophie Buhai Nautilus ring, the only real question is do you wear it on your middle or pinky?
The Renata Q. crocheted Seashell Necklace this is such a statement piece that just feels special.
Juju Vera is the one to watch and if you have been watching their stories, omg what is to come is insane. Love these updated earrings with the turquoise beads,
This Simkhai shell clutch is such a vacation moment.
Captured a few photos of the treasures I brought back from that magical trip to Texas.
A little tip if you're diving into Etsy or vintage shops so many people are retiring and downsizing right now, letting go of the most incredible pieces. You can truly find magic in the most unexpected places.
