Lately, inspiration has been coming through in quieter ways. I’ve been immersed in new clients, new projects, and most importantly, new perspectives. Moodboarding has become a daily ritual almost like I’m getting paid to dream (and in some ways, I am).
Currently, I’m deep in a travertine state of mind thanks to a prompt we’re working on through Dumont, our AI agency. It’s the texture, the nuance, the soft imperfections in each slab. All those creamy beige tones whispering their own story.
Something fun my husband recently introduced me to: uploading an image into ChatGPT and asking it to describe everything the light, the angle, the emotion, the edge. It’s wildly expansive. A whole new way of seeing. Suddenly, a still image becomes a living language. And honestly? It’s unlocked something. Artisticity at its most curious and I’m completely here for it.
Travertine
As a long-time admirer of travertine, something has shifted lately I’m no longer content with the subtle nod. I want a full moment. An unapologetic, over-the-top installation that takes over a space entirely. A floor-to-ceiling wall, a sculptural bookshelf, inlaid into a bathroom like it was always meant to live there.
There’s something timeless about it not showy, but grounded. Travertine doesn’t beg for attention, yet it commands presence. It feels like a foundation piece, a backdrop that carries the weight of history and quiet luxury. A material that tells a story without saying too much.
Kate Moss Glam
Lately, it’s all about the eyes. I’ve been deep in a Kate Moss 90s–early 2000s mood undone but intentional. That chunky mascara, the glint of shimmer, the depth that draws you in without trying too hard. It’s a little messy, but that’s the point. Lived-in, stricken, spellbinding.
Jil Sander
Jil Sander continues to reign supreme when it comes to campaigns each one a masterclass in restraint and emotion. There’s a quiet depth, a feeling captured with such simplicity it lingers. And then, there’s the logo bold, unapologetic anchoring each image as if to say: you already know.
Roberto Cavalli
A client recently sent over a deck with early 2000s Roberto Cavalli as the core inspiration and it stopped me. It’s been a minute since I’ve given that era its due, but suddenly I was back with the icons: Gisele, Erin Wasson, that unapologetic glamour. One Pinterest scroll turned into a deep dive, and the algorithm knew exactly what to serve. It was giving... everything.
